Committees
A delegate to AMUNC 2012 will represent his or her country on one of six bodies:
Economic and Finance Committee
Environmental Committee
Political and Security Committee
Social and Humanitarian Committee
Security Council
Human Rights Council
All assigned AMUNC countries (and observers) are represented in the General Assembly (GA) and on the four GA committees listed above. Fifteen of these countries are also represented on the Security Council, and up to 47 of these countries are also represented on the Human Rights Council.
A delegation for a country not represented on either the Security Council or the Human Rights Council will normally consist of four delegates, one for each GA committee. A delegation for a country that is also represented on either the Security Council or the Human Rights Council will normally consist of five delegates. A delegation for a country that is represented on both the Security Council and the Human Rights Council will normally consist of six delegates.
All 193 UN member states and 2 permanent observers are listed under country selection. Those with memberships on the Security Council and Human Rights Council are checked.
Rules of operation for the four GA committees and the Security Council may be found under Rules. The Human Rights Council (HRC) is a brand new body for Arrowhead, to be used for the first time at AMUNC 2012. This body will operate under the same parliamentary procedures as the four GA committees. However, since this body will write its resolutions on-site rather than in advance, there are some special rules for this body (see HRC). This body is especially appropriate for experienced Model UNers.
