The dreams upon which the United Nations was founded are reflected in the Charter’s main purposes and principles. These are to:
- Maintain international peace and security . . .
- Develop friendly relations among nations based on respect . . .
- Achieve international co-operation in solving international problems . . .
- Be a center for harmonizing the actions of nations in the attainment of these common ends.
The same hopes, aspirations, purposes and principles also serve as guidance for the students and faculty from colleges and universities across the Upper Midwest of the United States who join together each year at the Arrowhead Model United Nations Conference (AMUNC).
